My name is Francis and I will your therapist here at Land Park Therapy. The purpose of this place is to help you build a better life. And yes – that will mean growing in competence at managing your emotions and developing new skills, but more importantly, building a more satisfying life will involve deepening your connections to both yourself and others.
The goals of our work together will be decided by your specific needs and circumstances, which we will analyze together to plan for both short-term relief and long-term transformation.
This often involves a kind of see-saw between two ends of the therapeutic spectrum: skill-building & the development of deeper insights. I am unique in my skill set in as much as I hold certifications in both behavioral and psychoanalytic therapy modalities. My cognitive-behavioral skill set will help us enact changes that shift your perceptions and provide relief from pain, dysfunction and anxiety. And my psychoanalytic skills will help you discover and reshape the stories that keep you stuck in disappointing or depressive patterns.
My clients range from infancy all the way up through the golden years of life. This is rare among therapists – who tend to focus on either children or adults exclusively. But I find that working across the age-span gives me a unique perspective on both the road behind and the road ahead. Which is to say – I believe that speaking to your “inner child” is probably best done by someone who, well – knows and understands children.
