We are out-of-network providers and so clients are personally responsible for all fees upfront. With that said – many people can get reimbursed for visiting out-of-network providers through submission of a document called a superbill. Feel free to use the calculator below to see how much you may get reimbursed by your insurance for your therapy sessions with us:

For children-parents, or other family members – the answer is yes, Francis has the expertise to help you. For couples, the chances that Francis will be available to you are more slim.
90% of the time, the best way to get a clear idea of what is going in your relationship is actually to start by clarifying the unseen emotions and perceptions preventing you from seeing your partner clearly or connecting with them. You may have noticed that a great deal of therapists do not work with couples. Interesting, right? The truth is that most therapists do not work with couples because a great deal of couples work is not productive in the absence of deep personal insights that are usually more appropriate for individual therapy. Francis has helped many people improve their marriages, fix broken relationships, cope with infidelity, find deeper emotional and sexual connection, or navigate divorce, broken relationships or heartbreak, and chances are – he can help you too. If you are looking for couple’s therapy, reach out for a free consultation to see if Francis recommends you proceed. He may be able to help you, or if not – may be able to offer a referral to some of the best couple’s therapists in the area.
Psychotherapy, talk-therapy, therapy….these terms are essentially synonyms. They all refer to the healing process of speaking to a professional therapist about your life experiences and challenges in the pursuit of healing and growth.
Psychotherapy is professional practice, not a degree. There are probably 4-7 different types of licensed medical and counseling professionals whose degrees make them eligible to pursue licensure with the state to provide therapy and thus – there are many different routes to becoming a therapist. Francis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), which means he received a Masters in Social Work focusing on mental health counseling. For therapists of all kinds, however, it is largely the clinical training that defines their specialities more than the degree. Francis has experience working with children, toddlers, college students and adults. He has been trained in: Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Gottman Institute Couples Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and other modalities. He holds a certification in Personalized psychodynamic therapy (CMT) and is a member of the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group. Beyond this, Francis is also an expert in Parent-Child Play Therapy (PC-CARE) and is an authorized trainer who can provide certifications in this modality. Beyond this – Francis has worked in a number of non-clinical human services settings and has an expertise in working with high-performing adults via his experiences as a peer counselor at Harvard and his extensive experiences as a college counselor broadly.
